UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute of South Asian Art, BNU, Lahore, Pakistan

The UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute of South Asian Art, BNU, Lahore, Pakistan is pleased to announce an arts scholarship for 2023-24 in Art and Design for BFA ( four years undergraduate program and Master of Art & Design Studies (MAADS) ( MA two years program) as follows:

Applicants should fulfill the following criteria for Bachelor of Fine Arts ( BFA )(four years undergraduate Program):

  1. Have completed a Class XII in any stream
  2. Life demo of drawing during the interview (practical)
  3. Submit an art portfolio by each candidate during the interview (file containing a collection of artworks, paintings & drawings)
  4. Be a registered citizen of Bhutan. 
  5. Be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  6. No Objection Certificate (if employed)
  7. Medical fitness certificate

Applicants should fulfill the following criteria for MAADS (MA  two years Program):

  1. Have completed an undergraduate in fine Arts or Design.
  2. Selection shall be based on the merit ranking of the arts/design degree certificate produced during the interview.  
  3. Be a registered citizen of Bhutan. 
  4. No Objection Certificate (if employed)
  5. The art portfolio of each candidate shall be produced during the interview
  6. Medical fitness certificate

The scholarship will cover:

  • Tuition fees and hostel accommodation
  • Economy air travel from the native country to Lahore and back
  • Monthly stipend
  • Medical Insurance

Application and Selection Procedures

  • Applications shall be submitted to South Asia Foundation (SAF) country office, in Bhutan.
  • A life demo of drawing (practical) shall be conducted (30 minutes) by VSAT Bhutan.
  • Only two candidates (in total) shall be selected.
  • The date of the section interview shall be informed
  • The nominated candidate shall sign a Bond with SAF Bhutan

Deadline for submission of documents:

All interested candidates shall submit their relevant documents by 26 April 2023.
